Griff is a professional therapy dog that works with Samantha Runnion, LSCSW, RPT-S. He is a Golden Retriever who was born on May 25, 2022, to Cares Inc. in Concordia, KS. As a young puppy he began obedience training in the prison system. He was obedience trained at Ellsworth Correctional Facility, Leavenworth Correctional Facility, and Florence Correctional Facility. He was then provided socialization and public access training by the CARES Inc. staff.
Griff's name comes from the theme name of his litter which was the "Old Western TV Show" (Bonanza) litter. He began working as a professional therapy dog at Affinity Mental Wellness on October 21, 2024. When he is not working, he gets to be a normal dog. He loves to play fetch, tug of war, go on walks, and cuddle.
